MORE INFO —

LSA Magazine is the alumni magazine of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan. For the Spring 2023 edition, I had the opportunity to illustrate the cover and a feature story. The cover illustration, titled Dreams, conveys the idea of being in a dream state, whether we are sleeping or awake. We dream of bigger things, of belonging, of the melding of worlds. We dream in technicolor and textures, in ways literal and figurative. My illustration conveys that through soft gradients and textures, with multiple doorways leading readers through a variety of possibilities.

Each edition of the printed LSA Magazine also lives on the LSA website. I created multiple versions of the cover illustration to work across digital and social platforms and created web pages that helped guide users through the magazine stories.

LSA Magazine: Dreams

The feature story Do LSA Students Dream of Electric Sheep?, which I illustrated and designed, received a UCDA Design Award for editorial spreads. The layout blends photographed and digitally manipulated pages from course texts with layered imagery and textures to evoke a sense of exploration, wonder, and mystery.

The designs for this story were reimagined for the web to provide readers with the optimal user experience. View online story here.
