The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan publishes an award-winning alumni magazine twice a year, celebrating the inspiring work of LSA alumni, faculty, and students. Each story offers a powerful glimpse into the research, creativity, and impact emerging from the college.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to create illustrations that bring several of these features to life. This process involves deeply understanding the narrative—working closely with writers, researching the department or subject matter, and distilling complex ideas into compelling visuals. I develop mood boards and multiple concept sketches to align with the story’s tone and message, ultimately producing a cohesive set of illustrations that help visually articulate the depth and spirit of the piece. Below are a few selected works.
